I stupidly had my nose pierced spur of the moment there because for some reason the gun seemed less intimidating than the needle (never, get your nose pierced with a gun ever by the way, higher risk of infection and cartilage shatter among other things). The girl seemed nice and it was over quickly, however a day or two later I notice a sharp poking inside my nose.

They inserted a sharp pointy stud, with absolutely no back. They're not supposed to have one obviously, but they're not supposed to be needle like either. It punctured my inner nostril several times and bled, worried that I might hit it the wrong way (touching it alone made me wince, someone pinched my nose jokingly and not hard at all and it stabbed me causing me to bleed). Rather than risk injury I went to a professional to get it changed out.

She put in a screw and it was actually cheaper to go there than Pagoda. I figured Pagoda would be my cheapest option as well, and with a fifty dollar price point I thought getting it professionally done would be astronomical. It was much less in reality, she only charged me for the jewelry and with a tip it came to 25. So I was out fifty dollars for a *** piercing.

Not fun, really dumb looking back on it, but I just assumed they were all that expensive. Will never go there again.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Location: Charleroi, Pennsylvania

You're an ***! If you're going to decide to put a permanent hole in your body "spur of the moment" then you deserve the *** you went through.

Obviously piercing studs are pointed like a needle, how do you think they make the hole?! You can't blame pagoda for your own stupidity.

So let me understand the entirety of your grievance.

You admit to being cheap, making an daft choice, and then when one of your hooligan friends pinched your nose, that's Piercing Pagoda's fault?

You got what you paid for, so why come on here to obviate how simple you are? Hope that helps!

I was thinking about this occasion recently and decided to pop back. I'm going to add to this because a year ago when I wrote this I was so mad I don't think that I properly formulated my complaint and it was not helpful/ill written.

I couldn't even sleep on my left side because it was so swollen and red that if I brushed anything against it it was painful.

Putting on shirts was painful. When I said "pinched my nose" I was referring to the tip of my nose which was not near the piercing. I should not be wincing, bleeding and oozing pus because two weeks after receiving a piercing my boyfriend touched my nose. That is not how a piercing is supposed to be.

And after the proper care (ie sea salt paste and saline rinses) and removal of the initial stud it wasn't painful at all. I had ear piercings at the pagoda before and asked the person who serviced me about her own nose piercing and the risks of having it done with a gun versus a needle (I had heard mixed reactions for both). She said there was no difference, she had pierced a lot of noses and that her own had been pierced with a gun and she had no problems. She said that people typically post those horror stories online because they don't understand how to take care of a piercing to begin with.

She said tattoo parlors were expensive and can be unsanitary. I had never been to one.

As for cheap, no I wasn't willing to pay an astronomical price for something I wasn't sure would suit me. Since when do you consider fifty dollars being cheap? My mistake was believing her that they were expensive and not looking elsewhere.

My point and warning to other people on this site was that they shouldn't advertise a service if they can't fulfill that service without giving someone an infection and a piercing that's not functional.

Which is what I got. They also shouldn't mislead their customers, I worked in the mall and knew several people who worked there, I had talked to them about it a couple months before. I had been thinking about getting it pierced at the end of my semester if I performed well on my finals. So I trusted her judgement, why wouldn't I?

I phrased it as spur of the moment because I went directly after class in between school and work, but it was a decision I had considered for a few months before hand and I thought well it's now or never if I don't do it now I'll chicken out.

Their customer service following was awful which was what prompted me to write this complaint in the first place. When I went back about two weeks later and asked for advice; if it was normal, the redness, pus and swelling etc she said that was all part of the healing process. I had known others with nose piercings and this didn't seem normal to me. That was when I went to a professional, something I should have done in the first place who told me it was absolutely NOT.

They also refused to give me a refund because they couldn't take the jewelry back. The cleaning supplies they dispensed were also not sanitary for that type of piercing.

If you're paying for a service you should receive that service, bottom line.

Poor service and false advertising should not be an expectation for a consumer. I hope that my elaboration also helped the user who commented above with their blatantly fallacious reasoning!
